- use statistics as a tool when making business-related decisions
- do a data analysis by using Excel on simple data gathered from several sources
- report the results of a data analysis.

Teaching methods

There are 2 x 2 classes in a week. Participating classes is recommendable because a lot of different kind of exercises will be done during classes. Approach to statistics in this course is as practical as possible. A use of Excel is required. It is desirable that you practise your Excel skills if needed.


Getting a grade

Option 1: Participate two intermediate exams that will take place in October 2024 and in December 2024. The exact dates will be told later. The maximum total points of each intermediate exam are 24. A student must get at least 10 points from both exams and a total of 19 points in order to pass the course (grade 1). A detailed grade table will be available in Moodle course.

Option 2: Take a final exam in December 2024 (at the same time with intermediate exam 2), in January 2025 or in March 2025. The maximum points of a final exam are 30. A student must get at least 12 points in order to pass the course (grade 1). A detailed grade table will be available in Moodle course.

All students who enrol in Peppi are automatically enrolled on Moodle course.
