Learning objectives

The student is able to:
- assess the nursing needs of an acutely ill patient and the required interventions.
- apply the triage classifications used in nursing assessment.
- use the clinical examination methods of different organ systems.
- assess the needs for a relative’s support or resource-oriented mentoring of an acutely ill patient and a patient with multiple diseases.
- assess the need for care of emotionally traumatized patient and guide patient.
- differentiate emotional anxiety from serious somatic disorders and treat patient in an acute situation.
- work as a nurse in a resuscitation situation, manage and lead resuscitation event.
- analyze and interpret the patient's condition using an ECG.
- complement clinical knowledge of medication treatment.

- Roles of a nurse in changing services structures and in the third sector.
- A nurse as a nursing specialist in an independent nursing practice.
- Recognition of the disorders of vital functions in different situations.
- Emergency assessment, triage classifications.
- Clinical examination of patient.
- Resuscitation.
- ECG interpretation.
- Assessment of the need for care of emotionally traumatized patient and treatment of severe anxiety in acute situations.
- Patient-safe intramuscular injection.
