Learning objectives

After completing the course, the student will master the planning, different steps and implementation of the sustainability project. The student learns how to act as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The student can map the team's future development needs related to the sustainability phenomenon. The student is able to plan and implement the acquisition of knowledge. The student can critically evaluate and combine the information he/she collects as part of the team. The student is able to justify and explain the starting points of the sustainability project in a customer- and business-oriented way.

The student understands the requirements for running, planning and implementation of the sustainability project. The student is able to assess the feasibility and risks of the project. The student can draw up a project plan. The student can communicate and agree with the client/target group on the stages and requirements of the project implementation. The student knows project reporting.

The student is critically able to assess the implementation of the goals of the sustainability project and the impact of the measures taken. He/she is credible in communicating the potential of the project output to suitable target groups such as financiers, partners and/or customers.

Content

During the course, the student plans and implements a development project that affects the promotion of a sustainable future in the multidisciplinary team. Responsibility and the economic, social, ecological and cultural impacts of sustainable development are key themes of the project. 

The course consists of 3 phases:

Step I: Research, 2.5 cr:
Assessment of the operating environment
Building a knowledge base to solve the problem
Identification of the sustainability effect by different methods
Developing the criteria for decision-making
Clarification of the problem to be solved

Phase II: Planning, 2.5 cr:
Planning and scheduling of the project plan

Phase III: Implementation, 5 cr:
Project implementation
Critical Impact Assessment
Reporting
