Curricula

Savonia University of Applied Sciences organizes education leading to Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in both Finnish and English, as well as optional and non-stop studies included in the degrees. In addition, Savonia offers open UAS studies suitable for continuous learning, vocational specialization, and in-service training, as well as training targeted specifically for immigrants.

Savonia's curricula are competence-based. In the competence-based curriculum the competence objectives, key contents, and assessment criteria for the degree courses are defined, as well as the structure and progress of the studies. The competence objectives define the quality and level of competence that is required of the student. The evaluation criteria describe the levels of competence. The curriculum serves as the basis for the student's personal study and career plan (PSP).

The contents of the curricula are continuously developed in cooperation with students and working life, and the need for updates is reviewed annually. Each group of students has their own curriculum. Curricula for different degrees based on the starting year of studies can be found on these pages.

The course offering of the degree programs is planned each academic year, including the scheduling of courses and the planning of detailed teaching implementations.
