Learning objectives

After completing the course, the student
- knows the main laws, regulations, instructions and ethical principles governing medical treatment
- knows the responsibilities and duties of a nurse in the implementation of safe pharmacological treatment
- knows basic concepts of pharmacological treatment, administration routes and pharmaceutical forms
- knows pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of medication administered through different routes
- knows factors affecting the drug response, adverse reactions and drug interactions
- identifies the mechanisms of action of the most common medicinal substances
- names the main stages of the pharmacological treatment process
- knows how to use electronic databases of pharmacological treatment
- learns how to implement safe medication administration
- knows the principles of the intravenous fluid and medication administration and is able to implement them under supervision
- is able to dispense medication faultlessly
- is able to administer injections under supervision
- masters accurate drug calculations
- learns the documentation of medical treatment
- knows the national vaccination program and understands the importance of vaccines in health promotion.
