Learning objectives

Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
- Tell about ordinary, concrete topics by describing, detailing and comparing.
- Participate in discussions and negotiate.
- Write different personal or public texts, such as a job application, message, complaint, and instruction.
- Understand the main points and most important details of a conversation.
- Understand clear factual information from texts that require some reasonings.
- Know how to use language that is neither too familiar nor too formal for various purposes.
- Express their thoughts and give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
- Work in various situations in the field of tourism and hospitality management orally and in writing in Finnish.

- Vocabulary and themes e.g.: Job search, expressing an opinion, Finnish language at the workplace, tourism and hospitality management vocabulary and texts.
- Finnish structures in the level B1, e.g.: comparison of adverbs, sentence types, participles
