Learning objectives
The student is able to
- use the pedagogical concepts and professional terminology of early childhood education
- set objectives for education to support the child’s growth, development and learning
- prepare and implement pedagogical plans based on goals for transversal competence and areas of learning, and evaluate the implementation of the plans
- apply various participatory and early childhood education work methods to the guidance of education and learning of a child group
- apply play pedagogy to practice in early childhood education and care
- apply ecologically and economically sustainable development and environmental education in the pedagogical guidance process
- Implement cooperative education and upbringing in multiprofessional networks
Content
Basics of early pedagogy, different levels of early childhood education and care plans, child as a learner and zone of proximal development, work culture that enables the participation of children and parents, pedagogical guidance process, transversal competence and areas of learning, versatile work methods and practices, child observation and pedagogical documentation, ecological and economic sustainable development, multidisciplinary educational cooperation, diversity and multiculturalism
Qualifications
90 ECTS credits of compulsory basic and professional studies in the Degree Programme of Social Services need to have been completed before the course
