- identify culture-related social phenomena and understand their importance for human ability to function
- describe the legislation and service systems guiding multicultural work
- use professional methods in multicultural work

- guide and counsel the client and support social integration

- multiculturalisation in Finland and immigration-related concepts
- Finland’s own traditional cultural minorities
- professional interaction, cultural differences and their impact on human interaction
- international agreements and legislation, immigration policy
- social integration, adaptation and prevention of social exclusion nationally and internationally
- ethical principles of multicultural work
- multicultural case management and strengthening the clients’ life management
