Learning objectives
On completion of the course, the student will be able to:
observe the developmental stages and well-being of children and young people from the perspective of early support and preventive child protection work
to observe and document the processes of growth, development and learning of children and young people
plan, implement and evaluate pedagogical group activities for children or young people
use child- and youth-oriented guidance and teaching methods
work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning pedagogical activities
implementation and evaluation, and in developing the quality of work with early childhood education and care and with young people
guiding and supporting a culture of action that strengthens children's and young people's agency, mutual social interaction and sense of community, using a socio-educational work orientation
to implement educational cooperation, promoting the involvement of carers
implementing a developmental approach in multidisciplinary networking as part of the service system

Qualifications
At least 140 credits of studies in the Bachelor´s Degree in Social Services. Successful completion of a practical course in working methods in client work.
Students complete the pedagogy for growth, development and learning (5 credits) before starting the advanced practical training/social pedagogy.
The pedagogical practical training must support the identity of Social Pedagogue in ECEC and be carried out in early childhood education and care settings.
