Learning objectives

After the studies the student is provided with

- capability of studying in the network co-operation using different methods and techniques within the Dental Hygiene Programs in Nordic and Baltic countries
- skills to develop the practices within the subject of Oral Health Science
- capability of the different best practices in oral health care to broaden and to deepen her/his knowledge
- is capable of independent international communications and interactions with native language and at least one foreign language

Content

different best practices in oral health care
- the role of caries risk assessment methods in the development of preventive programmes
- prevention of oral diseases among children in period of primary and mixed dentition
- xylitol and motivational interviewing method and Teach Back method in oral health promotion

Teaching methods

Online course (100%)
Teaching language English. Discussions and E-learning methods (distance learning, contact learning via Zoom / Teams). Network co-operation using different methods and interactive techniques (Zoom-/Teams online meetings). Students will be working in multidisciplinary groups conducting a variety of learning activities.Self-assessment, peer-assessment.

Content
Virtual exchange. Different best practices in oral health care. The role of caries risk assessment (CRA) methods in the development of preventive programmes. Prevention of oral diseases among children in period of primary and mixed dentition. Xylitol and different methods in oral health promotion.
