Learning objectives

After the studies the student is able to

- master the essential concepts of pathology and the classification of diseases
- identifie the factors affecting the pathogenesis of diseases and the effects of diseases on the human body
- explain the defence mechanism of the human body and the tissue healing process
- explain the etiology and epidemiology of caries and the diseases of periodontium
- explain the ethiology of diseases of Hard tissue of the tooth and periodontal diseases, their risk factors and changes they cause
- describe mucosal changes and factors causing them

- the essential concepts of pathology and the classification of diseases
- the pathophysiology and etiology of diseases
- changes caused by diseases and the healing process
- changes in blood vessels and vascular disturbances
- benign and malignant tumours
- the defence mechanism of the human body
- the most common microbes and infections caused by them
- dental hard tissues
- connective tissues and the histology of mucous membrane and tongue
- the etiology and epidemiology of caries and periodontal diseases
- defence mechanisms of oral cavity
- the etiology of the tongue and mucosal changes: local and systemic causes
- lichen change
- leukoplagia change
- oral thrush / candidasis

The course is required as a preceding studies in order to participate Cariological Patient's Oral Heatlh Care 5 ECTS and Practice, Cariological Patient's Oral Health Care 5 ECTS
