Upon completion students:
- will have a profound understanding of alternative energy sources and their potential for energy production
- will identify the possibilities and development paths of advanced energy conversion technologies within combustion and hybrid energy production systems to minimize greenhouse gas emissions
- are able to analyze energy efficiency and feasibility of existing and new advanced energy conversion processes

Sisältö

This module introduces students to the full suite of alternative energy sources. It also introduces advanced conversion methods and their recent development and future possibilities so that students are able to use the best available greenhouse gas free energy production techniques in different sectors of the energy industry.

Toteutuksen kuvaus

The course is studied online in the Moodle learning environment

The study includes familiarization with materials, learning tasks, group work, online lectures and webinars

The course is assessed based on individual tasks and group work

The study period starts on January 2025 and ends on May 2025.
You must register for the study course no later than 15th of January
The course assignments must be returned/completed by 31.5.2025 at the latest

The course includes webinars and online meetings. Schedules of webinars and online meetings: January 2025 10 hours, March 2025 10 hours, April 2025 10 hours
Webinars are recorded and can be viewed later

The course fee is 75 euros for the open university of applied sciences students. Another option is an annual fee of 350 euros, which covers the tuition fees for the next 12 months at the Savonia open university of applied sciences.
Within a year of graduation from the Savonia degree, you can start your studies at Savonia Open UAS free of charge. The right to study lasts for one year.
