This course is indented to the students of Master's Degree Programme in Management and Development for Social and Health care Professionals.

The student strengthens his/her communicative skills and professional expertise in an international learning environment. The implementation of the course may vary according to destination and the role of the international co-operative partners.

Content varies according to topic of the course. Internationalisation in another country, or with international group visiting Finland. Concepts and definitions for acting and communicating in an international working life. Orientation in the working life of the chosen country (managing teams, projects, professional ethics).
During the course, the students make a intensive week in Brussels 4.-10. May in 2025.

To complete this course you have to participate to the intensive week of Brussels and do the related tasks.

Teaching methods

Intensive study week in PAR University in Kroatia. Pre-assignment to introduce the topics of the study week, lectures, workshops, and visits in Rijeka, and learning assignments during and after the study week.
Registration for the trip will be gathered separately in September.

Alternative implementation methods

Reporting and reflecting on innovation is sustainability or some other international setting that relate to student's work. The student will suggest a plan how to report the project etc. for the teacher. Accepted plan will be executed and reported in English. Student need to use applicable academic literature in the report to evaluate and reflect the practical aspects of the project.

Practical training and working life cooperation

Intensive study week will include company visits in Rijeka. The learning assignments will be done to develop the workplace of the student.

Teaching methods

The student is able to select a development target related to their own work and/or operating environment, plan the development actions, utilize appropriate literature in the development, implement the project, and report on it using research-based development methods.

The student analyzes and reports on practical measures taken to develop the industry and/or target organization, utilizing theory. The reporting can also relate to previously completed development work or the development of professional competence, including its critical evaluation and reflection on learning using literature.

During the course, the student demonstrates independent mastery and expertise in the chosen area of specialization. The course can also be linked to a project carried out in Savonia’s RDI activities.
