Learning objectives
Design and size a power plant process and its auxiliary systems according to basic design requirements.
Develop specifications for equipment, piping, and instrumentation, as well as control system diagrams and structural definitions.
Interpret the layout of a power plant.
Search for and utilize standards guiding the design of process equipment and auxiliary devices.

Overall design of a power plant process and practical design exercises.
Design and selection of plant equipment.
Process control and instrumentation.
Designing the layout of the plant.
Compilation and documentation of plant information.
Methods of Completion
The course includes theoretical lessons, calculation exercises, as well as group and individual tasks. Active participation and satisfactory completion of tasks are required in addition to the final exam.
Assessment Criteria
The course performance is assessed based on exams and assignments. The grading scale is 0-5. The exam contributes 50% to the overall grade, and the remaining 50% comes from assignments and attendance. Please note that attendance is recommended but not mandatory.

Qualifications
This course is closely linked to the courses 'Steam Boilers and Thermal Turbomachines' and 'Pressure Equipment Legislation'. It is recommended to complete these courses either before or concurrently with this course.
