The student is able to
- describe the diverse and multidisciplinary approach to mental health, crisis and violence in intimate partnerships at individual, community and social levels
- approach professionally mental health, crisis and intimate partner violence and recognize prejudice related to these
- understand crises as part of human life course
- know service systems in mental health, crisis and violence work and related legislation and recommendations
- work in multiprofessional networks in a client and family-oriented way
- understand the significance and implementation of preventive work

Content

Mental health as a resource, preventive mental health work and rehabilitative services, the most common types of mental health disorders, crises as part of the human life course and coping with them, the concept of violence in intimate partnerships and cycle of violence, mental health and crisis services at various stages of life, mental health work as a practical approach to increase well-being in society, collaborators in mental health work and support and guidance of the client’s own resources as well as referral to care, as a Bachelor of Social Services in multidisciplinary mental health work environments, related key legislation
