Learning objectives

The student is able to
- identify the clients’ individual life situations
- understand the client’s subjectivity in client-worker situations
- take into account client safety
- apply a structured and goal-oriented work approach
- develop his or her own interaction and guidance skills
- use reflective work approach to assess his or her own work
- analyse the core tasks of working activities in the workplace
- understand the objectives for work in social services and the service system as well as their social background
- identify the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation in client work
- apply the Prevention and Management of Violence (AVEKKI) model when needed and is motivated to act according to it in future profession
- interactively prevent and manage threatening and violent situations

Content

Client work in social services, client safety, structured and goal-oriented work approach, client subjectivity, interaction and guidance skills, reflective work approach, social background of the service system, cross-sectoral cooperation in client work.
Prevention and Management of Violence (AVEKKI) model and applying it in various contexts and environments

Qualifications

Passing of 30 ECTS credits before starting the internship.
