Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- communicate professionally in educational settings for children and young people
- set educational objectives to support the growth, development, learning and well-being of children and young people
- develop, implement and evaluate pedagogical plans and student welfare plans in multidisciplinary and inter-professional cooperation
- use inclusive child- and youth-centred working methods to promote the growth, learning and well-being of children and young people, taking into account the principles of sustainable development
- implement educational cooperation with carers and within a multidisciplinary network of experts

- the starting points and professional terminology of early childhood education and care of students
- the different levels of early childhood education and care plans
- the child and adolescent as a learner and the zone of proximal development and developmental challenges
- different learning and learning domains and diverse working methods
- a participatory culture involving children, young people and carers
- a pedagogical guidance process that supports well-being
- professional observation and pedagogical documentation
- multidisciplinary educational cooperation, parenting support

The material is announced at the beginning of the study period
Qualifications
90 credits of undergraduate and professional studies in the Bachelor´s Degree in Social Services.
Students qualifying as Social Pedagogue in ECEC must complete this course before the Advanced Practical training/social pedagogy.
