Learning objectives

After completing this study unit, students will be able to
- Describe the assistive device system and related legislation
- Explain the general process of purchasing assistive devices in rehabilitation
- Assess accessibility regarding a client's housing and living environment and highlight required changes
- Analyze the effects of biomechanics and strain on sitting, standing and lifting ergonomics
- Knows how to guide different customer groups, considering the physical needs and limitations of the group members
- Knows how to modify specific forms and situations of exercise based on the needs of these groups

Content

- Medical aid system, aids and legislation
- Accessibility in housing and living environments
- Ergonomics of sitting, standing and lifting
- Adapted physical activity and the importance of physical activity for special groups, trying out different forms of exercise
- Instructing applied physical activity to customer groups
