Learning objectives

Student is able to describe how digital working environment has developed (local to global), what is the meaning of digitalisation in a her/his working area/field and what are the future trends. Student recognises the benefits and obstacles of digital change. Student is able to choose digital tools which support her/his own working field. Student is able to recognize changes and describe internet accessible working environment, which facilitates collective action, communication and networking. Student knows principles of safe information sharing and has adequate information management skills. Student can coordinate distant work, group working and can participate in discussion forums.

- Basics of international and national information society policies
- Digitalised working environment permitting the completion of virtual participatory processes
- Key factors related to the success of digitalised working processes
- Main deficiencies of digitalised working environment
- Future trends in digitalised working life in own professional field of the students

Teaching methods

The course is studied in the Wordpress environment. You can study the course independently at your own pace during the implementation period September 1, 2024 - July 31, 2025. During the course, all students make their own blog where all assignments are written. All assignments must be completed to the required extent. Self-assessments must also be done.

Tasks in non-stop:
1. Creating a blog for other assignments.
2. Citizen in a digitalised society – all assignments are written in a blog created by the student.
3. Networking: way of working – all assignments are written in a blog created by the student.
4. Utilisation of digitalised working platform/environment – all assignments are written in a blog created by the student.

The course is evaluated based on the written assignments. The course assignments must be completed/exam completed no later than July 31, 2025. Credits are evaluated/marked in the study register five times during the academic year, approximately every two months.

Course is free of charge for CampusOnline students.
Course fee for open UAS students is 75 euros. At Savonia's open university of applied sciences, you can pay an annual fee of 350 euros, which covers the tuition fees for the next 12 months at the open university of applied sciences.
Within a year of graduation form the Savonia degree, you can start your studies at Savonia Open UAS free of charge. The right to study lasts for one year.
