Osaamistavoitteet

After the studies the student is able to
-assess and develop his or her own counselling skills as a counsellor, mentor and health promotor
-use various counselling methods in different ways
-work as a counsellor/mentor/health promotor in different operational environments
-assess the need for service counselling and self-care and utilize multiform, topical, respectful and resource-oriented counselling interventions in health promotion
-evaluate competence and personal development
-give feedback constructively to promote professional competence

Sisältö

The concepts of counselling, mentoring and health promotion and their scope. Different learning styles and counselling methods. A social and health care professional as a student counsellor and mentor. Participatory approach recognizing the client´s needs and promoting responsibility. Respectful encountering as well as dialogical and resource-oriented interaction with a client. Ethics in counselling. Service counselling. Digital solutions supporting a client´s self-care. Planning, implementing and assessing of interventions in counselling, mentoring or health promotion. Professional development. Giving feedback and evaluation.
