Osaamistavoitteet

The student iis familiar with
-the acts, decrees and other instructions regulating pharmacological treatment
-the nurse’s responsibilities and duties related to the implementation of pharmacological treatment
-the basic concepts of pharmacological treatment, administration routes and pharmaceutical forms
-the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of medication administered through different routes
-the factors affecting the drug response, adverse reactions and drug interactions
-identifies the mechanism of action of the most common medicaments
-names the main stages of the pharmacological treatment process
-is able to use the electronic databases of pharmacological treatment
-becomes familiar with safe medication administration
-is familiar with principles of the intravenous fluid and medication administration and is able to administer them under supervision
-is able to dispense medication faultlessly
-is able to administer injections under supervision
-masters accurate drug calculations
-learns to document medication

Basic concepts of pharmacological treatment, acts, decrees and other instructions regulating pharmacological treatment, administration routes and pharmaceutical forms, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, adverse reactions and drug interactions, monitoring drug response, a nurse administering medication, drug calculations, administering injections, dispensing of medication, the intravenous fluid therapy and medication, the electronic drug databases (Terveysportti), HaiPro.
