Learning objectives

After completing the course, the student
- is able to participate in discussions about current events
- is able to negotiate
- knows how to use language that is neither too familiar nor too formal for various purposes
- knows the most important rules of courtesy and acts in accordance with them
- is able to take into account the most important aspects related to cultural practices in their interactions
- understands clear factual information from texts that require some reasoning
- understands the main points and most important details of a formal or informal conversation
- can tell about ordinary, concrete topics by describing, detailing and comparing
- expresses himself relatively effortlessly and is able to write personal and more public messages
- is able to express his thoughts also on some imaginary subjects
- uses a moderately wide vocabulary and common idioms as well as a variety of structures and even complicated sentences
- masters the basic rules of pronunciation in other than practiced expressions.

Content

Topics: family life, cultural differences, describing character, expressing an opinion, technology and tools, advertisements, instructions, sports, vocabulary related to your professional field.

Grammar: translative, essive, comparison of adjectives, comparison of adverbs, sentence types.
