Learning objectives
The aim is to help the foreign student to adapt to the Finnish environment when studying, living and working in Finland. The students will learn more phrases and vocabulary needed in everyday situations, also the challenging ones. They will increase the awareness of Finnish customs and manners, culture and society.
After the course the student is able to
- adapt to the Finnish environment when studying, living and working in Finland
- know how to interact in different informal and formal daily contexts in Finnish
- use phrases and vocabulary needed in everyday situations
- understand predictable information in texts and speech related to a concrete topic, also formal ones written in Easy Finnish
- tell about his/her life, also the past
- ask and write informal messages related to their daily life
- increase the awareness of Finnish customs and manners, culture and society
- utilise different learning strategies that support enhancing the language skills.
