Objectives
To sort out which options does the European equine sector have to become sustainable for the future, how can we reach this goal?

Sisältö

• Biodiversity optimization in the yards of equine businesses.
• Decrease the ecological footprint of the equine sector.
• Social license to operate; public opinion has to be changed in favor of equine use, equine sector has to change to be excepted by the public.
• Influence of climate change on equine industry: diseases, food production, competition, husbandry
• One health
* getting to know finnish equine industry and compare it with Portugals and Neatherlands

Groupwork presentations (international groups) about Biodiversity, ecological footprint, social license to operate, influence of climate change and one health in equine sector.

Lisätiedot

IC participants (15 students + their teachers) come from Netherland and Portugal.
IC 5.-9. 2.2023 will be kept in Iisalmi Campus + study trips. Distance learning via Teams or Zoom during that time is not possible.

This course is implemented as blended intensive programme (BIP).
