Teaching methods
The students get familiar with machine and metal
industry's production methods, their principles and
production equipment. The students understand the
purpose of different manufacturing processes and know the
products manufactured with the different processes. The
students know the achieved accuracies and surface
roughness through different manufacturing processes, and
understand the factors related to the chosen manufacturing
method. The students become familiar with the basic
structure of CNC-machines and different machining methods. The
students understand the importance of measuring and
assembly technologies in the manufacturing of machine
components.
Course includes:
- Casting techniques
- Machining techniques
- Powder metallurgical manufacturing methods
- Cutting manufacturing methods
- 3D printing technology
- Measurements in engineering technology
- Assembly and installation
The course includes theory lectures and
weekly exercises that deepen the theory part.
The course also includes engineering and
laboratory assignments witch are combined wit orientation project
Course completion is assessed by partial and/or full exam
(scale 0 - 5, worth 60%) and practical work (scale 0 - 5,
worth 40%). Course completion requirement is passing the
partial exams or full exam as well as completion of the
practical laboratory works. The whole competence will be
assessed on a scale of 0-5.
The grading scale is the following:
Excellent (5), Very good (4), Good (3), Satisfactory (2),
Sufficient (1), Failed (0)
Student workload
- Six Weekly exercises based on lectures. These will be done on time period from January till end of March
