Teaching methods

Project Management course provides with knowledge of the generally accepted project management areas. The student learns to apply common project management processes, methods and techniques.

Cesim Project Simulation is an important part of the course and the student gains in-depth skills for project planning, execution and control as well as teamwork. The student participates actively as a team member in the simulation process, including project planning, project reporting and seminar presentation.

Course grade is based 50 % on the Cesim Project Simulation and 50 % on the assignment that will be done in a group.

In the assignment, the group will analyse an authentic project case, from a group member's work, from the viewpoint of project management theory and using all group members' earlier experience from project management.

Moreover, the students have opportunity to participate in IPMA Foundation Certification exam that will be organized during the spring term. Hence, it is possible to obtain IPMA Project Management Foundation Certificate for free. This certification is internationally recognized. Certification exam does not affect to the course grade.
