Teaching methods

Objectives

Student get skills in project work, time scheduling, teamworking, innovations and reporting. They will get skills of different IoT technologies and practices during the project. They learn especially professional skills of the embedded, sensor and wireless technologies. Students can use RD tools in product development tasks.

The student knows how to present and talk about a project with customers.

- Large project subjects of the IoT sphere covering sensors, embedded systems and wireless.
- All phases of RD project
- Communication skills needed in trade fairs. Posters. Working/ presenting at a stand.
The course consists of 4 cr on the project part and 1 cr on the communication part.

Implementation

Communication studies: 3 workshops to support the preparation of posters & presentations for the Trade Fair session. Active participation in the Trade Fair session. Self-assessment on Communication Skills.

Evaluation

Evaluation of communication part of the course: Pass/Fail
Evaluation is based on the presentation, poster and self-assessment related to the Trade Fair session and skills needed there, in the end of the course.

Well-documented project work in a company.

Lectures: 20 hours
Supervised laboratory teamwork: 46 hours

The above includes: The communication part of the course that consists of
- 6 hrs of contact teaching + 4 hrs active participation in the Trade Fair session
- 17 hrs of real-life communication practice during the RD/IoT1 project work.

Some of the project topics come from companies.

Further information

This course is performed at the same time with R&D Project Course. Both courses deal with the same technical project.
