Toteutuksen kuvaus

The aim is to help the foreign student to work in Finland and to tell about her work and duties. The students will learn to discuss and communicate with people at work. They will increase the awareness of Finnish nature and celebration. The students will reach the language level A2.2 at professional context and will be able to survive better at work in Finnish.

After the course the student is able to:
- tell about his/her working environment and duties in Finnish
- discuss in person and to communicate via email/other channels with people at work or studies in his/her area of expertise: to ask, to advise and suggest things
- know the suitable communication style in different situations in Finnish culture
- understand and produce simple texts in his/her area of expertise
- use essential professional vocabulary and source books
- reach the language level A2.2 in the professional context in writing, reading, listening and speaking

Grammar in the level A2, e.g.
- time tenses,
- plural,
- conditional sentences,
- passive present
- rare word types

Vocabulary and phrases e.g. about
- Finnish celebration and nature
- professional equipment, environment and duties

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö

The course required over 80 hours of work.
Campus lectures in weeks 36 - 47.
Exam in week 48.

Campus lectures are voluntary, but attendance will affect your grade.
