Teaching methods

The course is intended for Savonia-AMK exchange students. Aim of this course is to provide perspectives to the finnish way of life, culture and design. During the course student will produce a mini portfolio influenced by the experiences you have gained whilst doing your exchange period in Finland.

The course is studied online in the Moodle learning environment.

You can study the course independently at your own pace during the implementation period 1.9.2024–31.5.2025.

The course contains three tasks to be completed independently, which introduce a few key features of Finnish culture and design. At the end of the course, the student prepares a comprehensive portfolio of his acquaintance with Finnish culture.

The evaluation of the course is based on the student's portfolio.

The course assignments must be completed/exam completed by 31.5.2025 at the latest. The teacher assesses assignments/marks grades in the study register every 8 weeks.

Completing the course includes an independent visit and/or excursion to a museum or a cultural destination.

Student workload

The workload of the course is approximately 81 hours of independent study.
