Teaching methods
The student understands the importance of maintenance and development work with human resources both from the company's and personnel's points of view. He or she identifies the different elements of human resources management (HRM) and human resources development (HRD) and is able to understand the practical HR-procedures and how they are linked to the business. The student understands the principles of empowering leadership of the individuals and teams including motivation and interaction at the work place.
The course includes following HR-topics: HR Design, Recruitment and Onboarding, Competence Management, Remuneration and Performance Management, Work well-being and Work Safety.
The course will be implemented using Flipped Learning, Problem Based Learning and Learning by doing. The course is implemented as a in-class course (no hybrid). Students do both individual assignments and self-reflections as well as group discussions using the Learning Cafe method. Students will also make a HR-professional/employee interview.
There will be an exam in the end of the course. There will be an exam in the end of the course. If a students fails the exam, he/she has two opportunities to retake the exam. The student has one opportunity to try to improve the grade received on the exam. Exam material: Baker, Tim (2022). Alternative implementation methods
If student is unable to participate lectures in class, he/she can follow a personalized path. This path includes the following extra assignments:
1. Making a teaching video about to topic given by teacher and within a DL given by teacher
2. An online face-to-face exam.

Practical training and working life cooperation
All HR-topics will include real-life cases.
