Objectives
The student understands the basic software and how an ERP system uses the data that is needed in current business life. The student understands how the data model is designed and organized in the database.
The student understands the basic ERP system architecture and why this kind of software is needed. The student knows the main modules of the ERP system and their importance. The student can use the ERP system in a way it is used in daily business.
Methods
The course has a lot of assignments. There is a short introduction to the topic before each assignment.
The course has four main sections:
• General overview of data management systems and ERP (lessons in the class, presence is not mandatory)
• Running business simulation system RealGame (group work in the class, presence is mandatory)
• Running the Savonia Smart Factory (group work in the lab, presence is mandatory)
• Exploring systems such as CRM, SCM, BI, … (group work, presence is mandatory in final presentation seminars)
The work groups write reports of the exercises.

0 – 5
Evaluation principles
The evaluation is based on the exercise reports and presentation (pass / fail) and personal learning diary (grades 0-5).
