Learning objectives
After completing this course, the student is able to:
- understand product development processes and workflow
- understand the link between the product development and production
- work as a member of a multidisciplinary product development group
- understand the computer-aided programs the companies use in product development and production
- produce project documentation in English
- use common project meeting practices and related documentation of meetings
- present the goals of the project, interim reports and final results by using a variety of presentation techniques and tools
Content

Project part

- R&D work including the design phase of the product
- Practical manufacturing work in the laboratory
- 100 % participation in class is mandatory i at January
- 80 % Participation in class in mandatory at project work phase from February to April
The communication part - evaluation: Pass/Fail
The evaluation is based on
- independent tasks/ activities on Moodle
- 6 short assignments, done mostly during the lessons and as a group activity.

Student workload
Communication part of the course:
Contact lessons: 14 hrs
Independent working at home: 13 hrs
Final presentation & other communicative tasks & team working in your RD project: 27 hrs
