Learning objectives

After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- analyze and evaluate the changes in the elderly's vital functions and body
- act ethically in their tasks as a gerontological clinical nursing specialist, applying multidisciplinary knowledge and good evidence-based practices.
- assess and promote the health, functional capacity and well-being of the elderly in a multidisciplinary and resource-oriented manner
- know the most common elderly diseases and their medical care
- assess the nutritional status and implement nutritional therapy, applying nutritional therapy recommendations for the elderly
- implement and evaluate safe medication for the elderly, understanding the special features of medication for the elderly
- evaluate the customer's need for services and understand the importance of an age-friendly service structure and meaning to living at home
- understand the customer and service management operating model
- support and guide the family and loved ones in the care of the elderly
- apply various technological solutions in caring for the elderly and supporting living at home
- perform drug calculations without error
