Learning objectives
After completing this study unit, students will be able to
- explain the core aspects of the body's structure and functions with regard to the senses, the respiratory, circulatory and digestive systems, the hormonal system, the urinary and immune system, and the acid-base balance, without forgetting cellular and tissue levels.
- describe infection control methods and their importance as part of safe patient care and rehabilitation in different health care environments. Ability to present the key factors related to asepsis in personal hygiene, treatment of patient groups and rehabilitation.
- identify and explain changes in the body that are caused by external and internal factors
- affecting the onset of illness. (Cause – effect – healing process and factors affecting it)
- explain the key concepts of pathophysiology (pathology).
- explain the main mechanisms of origin, prevention, rehabilitation and treatment of musculoskeletal, respiratory and cardiovascular disorders.
- explain the differences between benign and malignant tumors and the process of cancer formation and spreading, as well as etiology.
