Learning objectives
After completing the course, students will have the ability to
- identify unethical behaviour and risks and take immediate action upon discovering them
- communicate and interact actively and professionally in working life
- demonstrate the ability to evaluate own decisions, actions and performance
- work in multiprofessional cooperation in the field of oral healthcare
- use received feedback to develop professional skills
- evaluate the validity of claims regarding different products in the field, primarily in relation to risks, clinical benefits and costs
- evaluate the impact of a patient's lifestyle on their oral health and rationalise the oral self-care instructions they provide to patients
- describe the benefits and risks related to different treatment plans in order for patients to make informed decisions
- use appropriate materials when providing instructions
- produce new teaching and instruction material
- implement comprehensive and high-quality care on patients as well as aesthetic oral health care
- use appropriate treatment methods aimed at fearful patients
- act in the multiprofessional orthodontic treatment process in own area of responsibility
- use orthodontic materials, equipment and instruments
- register oral health examinations performed in relation to orthodontic treatment
- provide and rationalise self-care instructions for orthodontic patients
