Osaamistavoitteet

The student understands the importance of maintenance and development work with human resources both from the company's and personnel's points of view. He or she identifies the different elements of human resource management and is able to understand the practical HRM procedures in the company. The student understands the principles of empowering leadership of the individuals and teams including motivation and interaction at the work place as well as teamwork principles. The student will learn how to work as a team and workplace member and team leader.

Toteutuksen kuvaus

The student understands the importance of maintenance and development work with human resources both from the company's and personnel's points of view. He or she identifies the different elements of human resources management (HRM) and human resources development (HRD) and is able to understand the practical HR-procedures and how they are linked to the business. The student understands the principles of empowering leadership of the individuals and teams including motivation and interaction at the work place.

The course includes following HR-topics: HR Design, Recruitment and Onboarding, Competence Management, Remuneration and Performance Management, Work well-being and Work Safety.

The course will be implemented using Flipped Learning, Problem Based Learning and Learning by doing. The course is implemented as a in-class course (no hybrid). Students do both individual assignments and self-reflections as well as group discussions using the Learning Cafe method. Students will also make a HR-professional/employee interview.

There will be an exam in the end of the course.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

If student is unable to participate lectures in class, he/she can follow a personalized path. This path includes the following extra assignments:
1. Making a teaching video about to topic given by teacher and within a DL given by teacher
2. An online face-to-face exam.

Individual work including e.g., pre-assignment, Moodle tasks and exam 100h

Harjoittelu- ja työelämäyhteistyö

All HR-topics will include real-life cases.
The course will include visitor lecturer.

The student understands the importance of maintenance and development work with human resources both from the company's and personnel's points of view. He or she identifies the different elements of human resources management (HRM) and and human resources development (HRD) is able to understand the practical HR-procedures and how they are linked to the business. The student understands the principles of empowering leadership of the individuals and teams including motivation and interaction at the work place as well as teamwork principles.

The course will be implemented using Flipped Learning, Problem Based Learning and Learning by Doing. This means, that you have some pre-work before lectures and that during lectures we'll learn by operating simultaneously as a imaginary employees/teams in a virtual company called Savonia Stars. This is why you should attend lectures in class and there will be no hybrid implementation.

The course will start in week 4 with the pre-assignment (literature review). You'll find detailed instructions on Moodle starting from 22nd of January. Interactive contact lectures begins in week 7 and continues until week 18.
