The student deepens their knowledge in various areas of music theory and analysis, history, and basic music notation, and gains readiness for further studies.
The student has a comprehensive understanding of the history of western music, its important periods, stylistic nuances, structures, core repertoire, ways of thinking, and practices. The student is able to explain these phenomena while teaching, and creatively produce them through playing and singing, and possibly utilizing technological applications to produce teaching and group playing material (sheet music) for different music education and music-making situations. The student is capable of applying the acquired skills in practice as well as in new situations. The student has good readiness for acquiring new knowledge and for lifelong self-improvement. In the studies, emphasis is placed on self-reliance as well as on a developmental and research-oriented approach.
